“I took the new elevator and it was very smooth. The old elevator didn't have fans or air conditioning, but now the new one is equipped with all, and I am so happy.” Ms. Sun, living on the 6th floor of No. 30, Binjiang Huayuan Community, Xinming Administrative Street, Ningbo High tech Zone, said happily.

On the morning of Dec. 6th, residents volunteered to set up a new elevator opening ceremony, downstairs at No. 30 of Binjiang Huayuan Community. Representatives of residents at the community presented banners to the administrative street community, and elevator company to express their gratitude.

Binjiang Huayuan Community is located in Xinming Administrative Street, High tech Zone. This elevator is not only the first elevator to be updated in Binjiang Huayuan Community, but also the first elevator renewal project in the High tech Zone. It took only 10 days to go through the entire process covering from the demolition of the old elevator to the installation of the new one and then being reviewed by the special inspection institute.

It is reported that the Binjiang Huayuan Community was built in 2004, and the old elevator had been in operation for 20 years. Since 2016, the elevator in No.30 Building has been experiencing frequent malfunctions, which can be described as "minor repairs every three days and major repairs every five days". This summer, elevator shut down twice, which became the last straw on the camel, therefore, the residents made up their minds to replace elevators. The elevator replacement project officially started in early November this year.

It only took 7 days to dismantle the old elevator and the installation of the new one, while it only took 3 days to go through the review formality of the special inspection institute. After a series of strict inspections and tests, the registration certificate for the use of special equipment was officially delivered to the owner on November 21, 2024, marking the official launch of the new elevator.

Bi Qijing, Secretary of the Party Committee of Binjiang Community, told reporters: "As there was only one elevator in this building, all owners needed to climb stairs when the elevator failed to work, which undoubtedly led to a lot of inconvenience to their lives. Therefore, community grid workers and project managers from elevator companies provided 24-hour errand services during this period to actively address the various needs and difficulties of homeowners as the elevator didn’t work at that time, especially providing grocery and medication services for the elderly. With the joint efforts of community members and elevator company project managers, the basic living needs of the owners were met during that special period.”

“The new elevator has undergone a comprehensive upgrade in both design and functions. The elevator coach has been equipped with air conditioning. The elevator's operating speed, load capacity, and coach height have been improved so that residents can enjoy a more comfortable environment as taking elevator.” The project manager of Ningbo Elevator Construction Co., Ltd. told reporters, “ the new elevator has been installed with new function of selecting background music, and owners can switch to various music according to their preferences and needs, making it more enjoyable.”
