On Mar 14th, Director Bao LiKui and his team from the National Termite Control Center (Housing Use Safety Management Center of Zhejiang Province) came to Yinzhou administrative district, Ningbo, to conduct research on housing use safety management and termite control, accompanied by Huang Yulin, Deputy Director of Ningbo Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau, Liu Xuewen, Deputy Director of Yinzhou administrative district, Shi Hailiang, Director of Housing and Urban-Rural Development Department of Yinzhou administrative district, Jiang Ying, Deputy Director of Ningbo Housing Safety Management and Property Management Center, and Director Chen Tianpei Housing Management Center of Yinzhou administrative district.

During the symposium, Director Chen Tianpei reported on the main practices of Yinzhou administrative district in housing safety management, including the establishment of three mechanisms: regular housing inspections, risk elimination and handling, and comprehensive insurance. He also introduced the promotion of the "insurance + service + technology" model to support housing safety in accordance with the requirements of the three systems pilot program for urban housing safety management in Ningbo. At the same time, Director Chen Tianpei briefly reported on the current work in termite control after its transfer to the district level.

Shi Hailiang Director of Housing and Urban-Rural Development Department of Yinzhou administrative district, and Jiang Ying, Deputy Director of Ningbo Housing Safety Management and Property Management Center, respectively made reports to the research team, including the high attention given by officials at all levels in Yinzhou administrative district to housing safety management in recent years. Great efforts would be made to classify and handle houses with structural risks and safety hazards by urban village and old community renovations, multiple measures might be taken including demolition, renovation, relocation and so on. The pioneering promotion of various insurance products such as urban housing insurance, rural housing insurance, and exterior wall insurance, as well as dynamic monitoring services, are to cover both urban and rural housing and ultimately protect the houses against safety hazards. They also shared the relevant practices and achievements in termite control after its transfer to the administrative district .

Vice District Head Liu Xuewen expressed warm welcome and thanks to Director Bao LiKui and his team for coming to Yinzhou for research and guidance. Both sides exchanged their viewpoints on housing safety and termite control.

Director Bao and his team conducted an on-site inspection of the "full replacement" hazard building handling project at No. 38, Zhenan Street after the meeting. Wang Haibing, Deputy Director of Housing Management Center of Yinzhou administrative district delivered a detailed report to the research team, covering the project’s reinforcement situation, the experience and practice of its implementation background, process, effects and so on.
    Director Bao LiKui highly affirmed the achievements in housing safety management and termite control in Yinzhou administrative district through the symposium and on-site inspection. He pointed out that Ningbo City has successfully been selected as a pilot city for "Good Houses". As Yinzhou administrative district is known as the "First District"in Ningbo, it has a large population base and a large area of existing buildings, therefore, it has to face considerable pressure from housing safety hazards. It is hoped that Yinzhou administrative District will continue to take the lead in exploration and innovation in housing safety management and termite control, and make contributions to the management of housing safety.
