According to the Jiangbei Administrative District Public Construction Center, the largest affordable rental housing project in Jiangbei Administrative District, the "Yuyueli" community (north of Yingjialiyuan (rental housing) project, has been fully completed and is expected to provide 3,584 units of affordable housing, meeting the needs of nearly 7,000 tenants.

Yuyueli community is adjacent to Ecological Green Corridor of Hongjiaxin River to the east and Kangzhuang North Road to the west, with a total construction area of approximately 264,000 square meters, consisting 22 residential buildings, including ordinary residential and apartment types. Among them, ordinary residential buildings covers five units ranging from 38 to 138 square meters, while apartments offer one unit of 38 square meters.

There are 56 sets of accessible housing in the rental housing project, making it convenient for special groups to move in. In a unit of 60 square meters, a row of handrails are installed on the living room wall to support people who have difficulty to move freely; Four folding sliding doors are fixed in the kitchen door with a delicately designed opening direction, which can be opened on both sides, providing sufficient space for wheelchairs to come and go. The operating platform of the kitchen is also lower than that of ordinary ones, and people in wheelchairs can easily cook their meals without any difficulty. Moreover, the gas stove is suspended below for the people in wheelchairs to extend their legs, making it convenient to cook near the stove.

In addition, “the height of the bedroom switch is about 1.3 meters above the ground in a regular residential building, while it is only 0.9 meters in an accessible one. It have been simulated that the wheelchairs can easily reach the switch”, said project leader Wang Senfu.

It is dry and wet separated in design and construction in bathroom, and there are handrails on all three sides of the washbasin. In the bathroom, a fold-able armrest design is very considerate. “When taking a shower, the aged may place the armrest down for temporary leaning and rest as it can support up to 150 pounds of adult weight. When not occupied, it can be folded and placed against the wall to save space.”

The door handle has also been lowered for the convenience of wheelchair users. The floors of each room have been designed for accessibility, with smooth edges and sloping surfaces, allowing wheelchairs to pass through the room without any obstacles.

There are 2 basketball courts in Yuyuanli community, one large and one small. The community is also equipped with a badminton court and an indoor sports stadium of over 1,000 square meters. Residents can do their exercises at their doorstep.

For families with kids, it is also a children-friendly residence. There are two outdoor activity areas for children in the community. Colorful slides and swings are safe and fun according to the design principles. The ground is covered with anti slip materials, and all facilities have gone through all safety inspections, allowing children to play freely.

There are two rows of shops along the street in the community, which can provide convenient dining and shopping experiences for residents in the future.

Moreover, the Yingjia Road Station of Metro Line 7 is under construction at present. It is in the southeast corner of the community and is expected to be put into operation in the second half of this year, making it more convenient for residents to travel.
